Cyber Bullying Causes School Children In Isle of Man To Be Suspended

Several students at Ramsey Grammar high school on the Isle of Man have been suspended following what was reported as "Cyber-Bullying" of one of the schools teachers on the social networking website Bebo. Bebo appears to have become the website of choice for those in the 6-16 year old age bracket and the number of instances of cyber-bullying and inappropriate content on Bebo seem to be on the increase. Because of its young audience it is also apparantely a firm favourite of paedophiles and child groomers. Although in this case the bullying was little more a group of students getting together to write about the "worst teacher eva" (which has been scribbled on bus shelters etc for years) it is important that children are made aware of the repercussions of posting on the Internet. More importantly none of us would like to think that our kids are the ones doing the bullying yet they must be, do you know what your child is doing online at the moment?
